I signed up to do a demonstration at our Stamp Share this month and wanted to do something different. I usually just make cards- not much for 3D things. So I perused Pinterest and found a mini album made from 1 sheet of 12x12 card stock. I tried it, and decided to make mine with a little twist. I didn't add ribbon to hold it all together to be an album. I made it so it opens into a banner! Check it out...
The finished project, with a belly band to hold it together

Ta da! A Happy Birthday Banner. It doesn't open completely because of the way 3 of the folds are.

How the card stock looks after it's scored and cut, before it's folded up.
DIRECTIONS: Score a 12 x 12" piece of card stock at 3", 6", and 9" in both directions so you end up with a grid of 16 squares. Use your Stampin' Trimmer to cut on the 3" and 9" vertical lines down to the 9" horizontal line, Cut the 6" vertical line from the bottom up to the 3" horizontal line. Hopefully I explained that OK! Look at the picture above to see how it should be cut. Don't cut all the way or you'll end up with strips! 3 sets of squares need to stay connected.
If you want to make it into an album rather than a banner, just add a piece of ribbon that is long enough to go around it when it's all folded up and tie a bow. Attach to the front of the album, keep it snug around the fold and attach to the back of the album. Leave your ends long enough to tie.
Colors: Mint Macaron, Rose Red, Sahara Sand
