Perfect Pennats Confetti Shaker, New Stairs!

At our last Stamp Share, Betty had us make this cute card:

Stamp: Perfect Pennants

Colors: Crisp Cantaloupe, Strawberry Slush, Coastal Cabana, Whisper White, Gold

Accessories: Deco Labels and On Film Framelits, Watercolor Wonder Designer Washi Tape, Gold Baker's Twine, Decorative Dots Embossing Folder, Small Heart Punch, Fringe Scissors, Sticky Strip

Here are the pictures from Day 2 of the Stair Project:

Sydne loved the blankets Mike put down on the floor. She thought they were for her!

This is as far as we got before Christmas- functional but not finished! At least they worked so everyone could get downstairs safely since we had Christmas here. I'll be back to share the After pictures with you...

Yippee-Skippee! Petal Parade Sweet Sorbet Swap, Spiral Staircase Demolition

My second card for the Pizza Party Swap uses several products from the Sale-A-Bration brochure. I did two different color versions:

Stamps: Yippee-Skippee!, Petal Parade (SAB)

Colors: Crisp Cantaloupe, Pistachio Pudding, Summer Starfruit, Basic Black

Accessories: Sweet Sorbet Designer Series Paper (SAB), Twine from the Sweet Sorbet Accessory Pack (SAB), Decorative Dots Embossing Folder (SAB), Scalloped Tag Topper Punch (Occasions Catalog)

Back to the stairs project...here are some demolition photos:

It looks like a hot tub should go here!

Little bit of a drop, tho!

My poor kitchen! Those are all the stairs and spindles stacked in front of the cooktop and oven. The round pieces in the front of the left picture are the pieces that were in between each stair on the center post.

Luckily the original owners of the house had this area almost big enough for regular stairs.

To get all the stairs to fit, we ended up with two landings. That's our contractor Mike, hard at work! This all got done on the first day!

Just Sayin' Gold Foil Swap, Spiral Staircase

The Stamp Share For Leaders group had a Pizza Party Swap last week. I didn't go, but participated in the swap by mailing my cards. We all came up with 2 designs using products from the Occasions Catalog and the Sale-A-Bration brochure. Here is my first card:

Stamps: Just Sayin'

Colors: Gold, Whisper White

Accessories: Gold Foil Sheets, Gold Fancy Foil Designer Vellum, Gold Baker's Twine, Gold Embossing Powder, VersaMark ink, Word Bubbles Framelits

I mentioned we have been busy with a project here...it's finally done! Our house had a spiral staircase and we decided to take it out and build "normal" stairs. The spiral was gorgeous, but not very practical as the only stairs in the house. If they would have been a second set of stairs, we wouldn't have had a problem with them. This is what they looked like:

Luckily they were pretty easy to take apart- everything comes apart so there were no huge pieces to move. If anyone is interested, they are for sale! Contact me for more info...

I have lots of pictures taken during the project and the final results. I'll share more tomorrow!

Accessories: Fresh Prints Designer Series Paper Stack (Occasions Catalog), Hearts A Flutter Framelits, Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack, Small Heart Punch, Baker's Twine, Rhinestones, Glue Dots

Stamp-A-Stack Banner Blast Love & Hearts

I didn't go to Stampin' Up!'s Leadership conference this year (I decided it made more sense to change the stairs in the house- more on that coming soon!) but thanks to my awesome upline Betty, I was able to participate in a swap there. She was nice enough to take my cards and swap them for me, so I have lots of ideas using new things from the Occasions catalog and Sale-A-Bration brochure. The 4th card for the January Stamp-A-Stack is CASE'd from one of those cards, made by Brenda C.

Stamps: Banner Blast (Sale-A-Bration)

Colors: Real Red, Basic Black, Whisper White

Accessories: Polka Dot Parade Designer Series Paper, Adorning Accents Embossing Folder, Banner Punch (Sale-A-Bration), 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon

That's The Ticket Sweetheart Treat Bag Valentine

Last night was our Stamp Share. My awesome upline Betty does this for us (those in her downline) every month! We get together to make projects and share ideas. We also do a swap, where everyone who wants to participate makes multiples of their project and then we swap them. We end up with lots of great samples! I decided to try another idea with the Sweetheart Treat Bags and come up with these:

(back side)

Stamp: That's The Ticket

Colors: Real Red, Pool Party, Pink Pirouette, Whisper White

Accessories: Sweetheart Treat Bags, Red Glimmer Paper, Ticket Duo, 1 1/4" Scallop Circle and 1 3/4" Circle punches, Dimensionals (the Pool Party banner and Baker's Twine are included with the Treat Bags)

Here's how I made them:

The bags are 3 1/2 x 5 1/4". I scored the sides and bottom at 3/4" because that is how much the bottom flap is and I didn't it to show once the bag was folded. If you look at the picture above you can see the end of the flap right on the edge.

I folded on the lines to get things started, then carefully opened the bag and folded each crease individually.

Pushing up the bottom creases made little points from the corners of the bag. I flattened them...

...then folded them flat and attached them with small pieces of Sticky Strip.

To help get straight lines and neat folds, I used a small punch (the new Banner Punch from the SAB brochure was on my desk and was just the right size) to push into the corners.

So instead of just a flat treat bag, I now have a little sack that is 1 1/2 x 2 x 4 1/2" tall.

I folded over the top, lined up my topper and punched a hole through everything with my Crop-A-Dile. I put one end of the Baker's Twine through the holes in the folded over bag, leaving a tail of about 7", then wrapped the twine around the bag 3 times, going through the holes again at the top each time.

To finish it I put each end of the twine through a hole in the topper (front and back), pulled it snug and tied a bow to keep everything together.

Then I got to thinking...these little bags are basically just folded Designer Series Paper, so why can't I make my own and do whatever size I want?

This piece started out 6 1/2 x 12". I scored it at 2 1/2" and 8 1/4" to make sure I had enough overlap to put adhesive to hold it together. I scored 3/4" up from the bottom and cut away the pieces on the sides to leave a flap to make the bottom. (Season of Style DSP from the Holiday Catalog)

Flipped over...showing the flap on the bottom.

The finished bag, 5 3/4" wide by 5 1/2" tall.

Another bag I made and turned into a sack. This one started with a piece of DSP that was 9 x 12". I scored it at 3" and 8 1/2". That made the flat bag 5 1/2" wide. I scored at 3/4" for the bottom again. Then I scored at 1" on the sides and bottom which makes the sack 2 x 3 1/2 and 7 1/4" tall. (Island Oasis DSP from a past mini catalog)

Another way to use up pieces of DSP! Yay!

Stamp-A-Stack Tags 4 You Delightful Dozen Sweetheart Treat Bag Valentine

Card #2 from the January Stamp-A-Stack is actually a Sweetheart Treat Bag from the A Whole Lot Of Love special for Valentine's Day. You get 12 Real Red heart sacks, 12 Pool Party die-cut labels and 12 pre-cut pieces of Pool Party Baker's Twine. I decided to make them into cute little note holders:

Stamps: Tags 4 You ("Happy Heart Day"), Delightful Dozen ("Be My Valentine")

Colors: Real Red, Pool Party, Pink Pirouette, Whisper White

Accessories: Sweetheart Treat Bags (A Whole Lot Of Love Special), Label Bracket, 1/2" Circle, 1" Circle and Small Heart punches, 3/4" Chevron Ribbon

The Whisper White note is 3 1/4 x 5 1/4. I used the 1" Circle Punch to punch out half a circle at the top of the treat bag to make it easier to slide the note in and out of the bag.

Thanks to my sideline Jen who shared a similar project at our December Stamp Share!
