USE IT UP Greetings of the Season DSP Banners Pumpkin, Tag It Bundles

I am proud to say that I have used up all the scraps of Halloween Designer Series Paper I had! Wait, I have to be totally honest...there's still a few pieces of last year's paper that aren't really Halloween looking, so I'll use those up on other projects soon. Anyway, here's the first of my last three Halloween cards:

Stamps: Halloween Happiness, Greetings of the Season (on the Carryover List)

Colors: Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive, Basic Black, Very Vanilla

Accessories: Witches Brew Designer Series Paper, Apothecary Accents Framelits

Simple, but cute. Not necessarily Halloween- could just be for fall.

Halloween Sour Cream Treat Holders

Last year Stampin' Up! had the cutest little Halloween bags in the Holiday Catalog. I was hoping they would have something similar this year, but no such luck. The Muslin Bags are cute, but too expensive when you need a lot of them. So I decided to make the "Sour Cream Containers" out of Designer Series Paper. In case you haven't made them, here are the directions:

I used 6 x 6" pieces of DSP and put a piece of Sticky Strip on one edge. I should have put it all the way on that edge, as I had to go back and add more later when they didn't stay together.

Roll the DSP into a tube. Again- use the Sticky Strip on the whole edge!

All the rolled tubes and 2 finished containers on top. I forgot to take a picture of the next step, but it's pretty easy. Just flatten one end of the tube and put a piece of sticky strip inside to hold it closed. Fill with treats, then flatten the open end so that it is perpendicular to the first end you closed. I decided to punch holes and thread ribbon through to tie the container closed, which also makes it easy to open without destroying it!

A finished container, filled with treats!

Side view of a finished container.

I tried using a glue gun to put these together, but didn't have very good luck. Sticky Strip works much better! Especially on the bottom (sealed end). I decided to add a piece of Washi Tape to help hold them together and use it up.

Stamp: Pictograms (retired)

Colors: Tangerine Tango, Pumpkin Pie, Basic Gray, Basic Black, More Mustard, Summer Starfruit, Very Vanilla

Accessories: Witches Brew and Howlstooth & Scaringbone (from last year's Holiday Catalog) Designer Series Papers, Vellum, Striped Grosgrain Ribbon (retired), Washi Tape, Apothecary Accents Framelits

UPDATE: I made 44 of these and we had 43 Trick-or-Treaters come to our door!

Stamp-A-Stack Magnificent Maple Burlap Birthday

The last card from the October Stamp-A-Stack, CASE'd from Sherry B:

Stamps: Magnificent Maple, From My Heart

Colors: Early Espresso, Tangerine Tango, Soft Sky, Naturals White

Accessories: Woodgrain Embossing Folder, Burlap Ribbon, Circles Framelits, 1 3/4" Circle and Hexagon punches, Dimensional

For this card, the Early Espresso card base is 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 and the Naturals White layer is 5 1/4 x 8, folded in half to create the card. This is a fun way to make a card where you want the base to be a darker color but don't have to worry about lining it with a lighter color for writing on. I used small pieces of the Multi-Purpose Adhesive Sheets to attach the Burlap Ribbon. There is one Dimensional at the top of the circles- no need at the bottom because of the thickness of the Burlap. Just use SNAIL adhesive there.

The November Stamp-A-Stack will be on Saturday the 16th.
Sign up by the 13th to reserve your spot!
Make 10 cards (2 each of 5 designs) for $20.

Stamp-A-Stack Gently Falling Framed Leaf

This is the first of my cards from the October Stamp-A-Stack:

Stamps: Gently Falling

Colors: Crushed Curry, Cajun Craze, Chocolate Chip or Early Espresso, Very Vanilla

Accessories: Chipboard Frames- these were available several years ago. You could substitute the Coaster Board (which is a thinner) on page 156 of the Big Catalog and die cut and/or punch it.

These are what the frames I used look like before I colored them:

This is what they look like separated:

I do have 16 of these left if anyone is interested in them. The largest outside frame is just under 2 5/8", the smaller inside frame is 2-2 1/4", the square is about 1 3/8". They soak up a lot of ink but are very easy to color. I also have 16 of just the squares.

Stamp-A-Stack Lovely As A Tree Remembering Christmas Deer

Amy's second card from the October Stamp-A-Stack:

Stamps: Lovely As A Tree, Remembering Christmas

Colors: Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie, Cajun Craze, Soft Suede, Garden Green, Whisper White

Accessories: Black Staz On, AquaPainters

I used a sponge to add the Garden Green and then tried to blend it a little so I didn't get the lines from just using the AquaPainter.

I think it looks like the deer is photobombing! :)

Stamp-A-Stack Remembering Christmas Magnificent Maple Deer

Saturday was the October Stamp-a-Stack. Amy and I worked together again. Our theme this month was "Fall". It rained almost the entire time we were at the Building and Sunday we had snow- so much for Fall in Minnesota!

Stamps: Remembering Christmas, Magnificent Maple, Itty Bitty Banners

Colors: Old Olive, Early Espresso, Pumpkin Pie, Crumb Cake, Baked Brown Sugar, Very Vanilla

Accessories: Woodgrain Embossing Folder, Ovals and Bitty Banners Framelits, Dimensionals

To get this look, the deer is inked in Baked Brown Sugar. Then ink up the Magnificent Maple in Early Espresso and stamp it on the deer. Stamp on cardstock. This technique is called "kissing". It makes the deer look like camo!

Thankful Tablescape Greetings of the Season Magnificent Maple

I love fall! I had some of these supplies out from working on a card for the October Stamp-A-Stack, so I made this card as well:

Colors: Crushed Curry, Cajun Craze, Sahara Sand, Whisper White

Accessories: Journaling Card from the Thankful Tablescape Simply Created Kit, Square Lattice Embossing Folder

USE IT UP Magnificent Maple Thank You

This card started with trying to come up with a way to use the two orange die cuts that are the bottom layer. I overlapped them, die cut the next smaller size in red and overlapped them, then added the die cut with the leaf stamped on it. A piece of ribbon I found in my stash completed the card. I love using things up!

Stamps: Magnificent Maple, Delightful Dozen

Colors: Pumpkin Pie, Cajun Craze, Daffodil Delight, Crumb Cake, Whisper White

Accessories: Labels Collection Framelits, 1/4" Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon, Dimensionals

I inked the Maple in Daffodil Delight, then used Pumpkin Pie and Cajun Craze markers to add color before I stamped it. The Pumpkin Pie didn't show up as much as I wanted it to, so I added some more lines after stamping.

USE IT UP Little Giggle Greetings Cards & Endless Wishes Photoploymer Stamp Set

I forgot to post yesterday- sorry about that! To make up for it, I'll share 4 little 2 3/4" square cards that I made last weekend:

Inside: "or your tail or whatever..."

Inside: "the more you have the more you want to gag."

Inside: "unless you're a cheese."

Inside: "and sometimes it's just the pits."

Stamps: Giggle Greetings

Colors: Pear Pizzazz, Concord Crush, Peach Parfait, Poppy Parade
(the last 3 are 2010-2012 In Colors and are no longer available)

Accessories: 2010-2012 In Color Patterns Designer Series Paper Stack (discontinued), Stampin' Write Markers

Aren't they cute? These started with scraps of DSP in retired In Colors. You could substitute any small pieces of DSP that you have. I used the Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker directly on the stamp to ink everything except the "punch line", which I put on the inside after cleaning the stamp.

ORGANIZING: Stampin' Trimmer Rotary Cutting Blades & Monstermaniacs

As soon as the new Rotary Addition and Cutting Blades were available, I ordered them all. And I'm so glad I did! They are really easy to use and I like the  designs. But the Blades are small- about the size of a quarter. How was I going to store them so I didn't lose any? Of course- the Half Size Wood-Mount Stamp Cases! Perfect!

I cut the directions for how to change the cutting tracks and blades and put the pictures on the front and back of the case:

The written instructions are inside the front cover:

This is what the blades look like inside the case- a perfect fit!

Check out the Stampin' Trimmer on page 176 of the catalog. The Rotary Addition is also on that page. Replacement Blades and the new Cutting Blades are on page 177. The Trimmer and Rotary Addition are also shown on page 24 of the Holiday catalog, along with a new Perforating Blade.

INTRODUCING: Monstermaniacs!

The Monstermaniacs Stamp Set is the most recent winner of our In with You Design Challenge. The set is now available for you to purchase!

Convention Make & Take Project: Tag A Bag Gift Bag, Pop & Place Holiday Gift Tags

The second project from Convention, using a Tag A Bag Gift Bag:

Stamps: Tag It

Colors: Bermuda Bay, Calypso Coral, Coastal Cabana, Crushed Curry

Accessories: Tag A Bag Gift Bags, Tag A Bag Accessory Kit, 3/8" Ruffle Stretch Trim, Simply Scored Scoring Tool, Paper Snips, Bone Folder

To make the bag stand up instead of being a flat pouch, cut off just the bottom edge of the bag, score both sides of the bag at 1" and the bottom at 1 1/4". Use a bone folder to fold the score lines. Cut on the side score lines up to the bottom score line, open the bag and assemble the bottom like a box.

Here's a video to show you how it's made:
