Layering Leaves Fresh As A Daisy Lattice Fold

Today is the last day of the Designer Series Paper Sale!
Save 15% on select papers!

One of the papers on sale is "Fresh As A Daisy". I used it on my cards for our May Stamp Share swap, along with a really old school technique- the Lattice Fold. Have you ever done this one?

Start by making cuts at a 45 degree angle every 1/4" (there are lots of templates online to follow). Then you fold every other one down. So simple, but it looks cool!

This is what it looks like on the inside (above) and from the front when it's open (below)

Colors: Basic White, Garden Green, Lemon Lolly

Watch the direction of your paper when you use the Patchwork Dies! I didn't and ended up cutting this one upside down. I just did the card a little different.

This was my first card, before I decided to do the lattice fold. I wasn't sure I liked all the white space around the patchwork layer.

Katie's Charming Sentiments Seaside Bay

If you are looking for a different fold that is very easy to do, check out this card that Katie made for our May Stamp Share swap. Start with a piece of card stock that is 4 1/4 x 11", scored at 5 1/2". Fold and then cut at 2 3/4" on the front. Then just turn that piece 90 degrees and attach it to the remaining 2 3/4". Isn't that easy? Then decorate as desired!

Colors: Basic White, Balmy Blue, Bubble Bath, Shaded Spruce

Betty's Earthen Textures

Stampin' Up! recently had an online event for demonstrators. They did some projects with a new stamp set and dies that will be in the September-December Mini Catalog and showed a few sneak peeks. They also talked about several of the new products in the 2023-2024 Annual catalog. like the Earthen Elegance Suite. They interviewed the designer who came up with the Designer Series Paper. In addition to paper crafting, she also does pottery. She rolled out pieces of clay to 6x6" and made different designs on them and used different glazes before and after firing them. You can see some of those original pieces on page 70 in the catalog. They took pictures of those pieces and that's how they made the paper. Isn't that cool?

Here's the card Betty made for our May Stamp Share swap using these products:

Colors: Misty Moonlight, Very Vanilla

Jan's Inked & Tiled

What do you think of the new In Colors? As a group they are very different from what we've had in the past- very moody and subdued. I think I like them better one at a time. Check out this pretty Moody Mauve card that Jan made for our May Stamp Share:

Colors: Basic White, Balmy Blue, Moody Mauve

Kim & Manette's Lattice Split Cards

Kim and Manette made similar cards for the May Stamp Share swap. I think most people are calling them lattice or lattice split cards.
