Labels Collection Thank You

I'm cleaning out my scrap box again! This time I started with a stamped image of Elegant Thank You, which retired this summer. That was one of my favorites! I started out trimming it to a diamond, just to be different, but it wasn't even and looked funny. So I trimmed around it with my Paper Snips. The Designer Series Paper is from an old Hostess Pack- we used it on this card for the last Stamp-A-Stack. This was the last piece I had in Night of Navy.

Stamp Set: Elegant Thank You (retired)

Colors: Night of Navy, Whisper White

Accessories: Designer Series Paper (retired Hostess Pack), Labels Collection Framelits, Festive Paper-Piercing Pack, Tool & Mat

The new Polka Dot Parade Designer Series Paper on page 164 of the Catalog would work great on this card, too!

Fabric Frame Project

My upline Betty has a Stamp Share every month where we get together, eat dinner, swap cards, and do some stamping. At the August meeting, one of our projects was putting Stampin' Up! fabric and quilt batting into a frame. I don't know exactly what you would call it, so I'm calling a Fabric Frame. Pretty original, huh? I didn't make mine that night- I was too busy talking. In my defense, it was right after the fire so there was lots to talk about! But I did finish it a few weeks ago and took a picture when I did the cards from the Stamp-A-Stack. Here it is:

Ta Da! I actually used fabric! (I don't sew) It's a little crooked, but it's done.

Then I thought I should take a picture with something on it, so I used my phone. Too lazy to get the big camera out! That's my Make N Take Helper button from Convention last year. It was the first thing I saw that wasn't a card (didn't want a hole in them!). The frame is about 14 x 16 1/2.

Monthly Card Club

Have you heard about my Card Club? We meet the first Tuesday of every month, 1-2:30 or 6:30-8 and make 2 cards. It's only $5 or FREE with an order of $25 or more! I have everything ready for you to make the cards- just RSVP by the Sunday before so I can prepare. You can just come and make the cards with no commitment, or you can place orders and earn Hostess Benefits!

Here's my twist...

Instead of having a minimum number of people to get enough orders together each month and have everyone take turns being the hostess, everyone will be on their own. When you place a total of $150 in orders, you get $20 in FREE merchandise! So you could place 2 orders of $75 each, 6 orders of $25 each, or any combination, even if you need to skip a month. Once your orders total $150, you get to pick out your FREE items! No waiting for it to be "your" month!

This is my way of thanking you for being my loyal customers! I really do appreciate all of you!

The next Card Club will be on October 2nd. Let me know by September 30th if you'd like to join us!

This is one of the cards we made in September:

Stamp Sets: Watercolor Winter, Petite Pairs

Colors: Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, Garden Green, Very Vanilla

Accessories: Core'dinations Card Stock, Stampin' Sanding System, Labels Collection Framelits, Dimensionals

Vintage Ornament

This was the most popular card at the September Stamp-A-Stack. I CASE'd it from Connie S. Isn't it pretty? I liked it so much I made more of them for the Stamp Share with my upline Betty's group.

Stamp Set: Ornament Keepsakes, French Foliage

Colors: Soft Suede, Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla

Accessories: Holiday Ornaments Framelits, Lacy Brocade Embossing Folder, Large Pearl Basic Jewels, Linen Thread, Dimensionals

There is a lot of sponging on this card- something I normally don't do much of. But it really looks nice on this card!

Paper Flowers

Paper Flowers are quite popular lately, so I wanted to feature them at the last Stamp-A-Stack. I wanted them to be on a card, so we made these:

Stamp Set: Itty Bitty Banners

Colors: Lucky Limeade, Early Espresso, Real Red, Very Vanilla

Accessories: Candlelight Christmas Specialty Designer Series Paper, Fancy Fan Embossing Folder, Bitty Banners Framelits, Antique Brads, Blossom Punch

The flowers are very easy to make!

1) Punch 5 flowers from card stock
2) Punch a hole (or use a paper piercer) in the center of each
3) Spritz each flower with water (I used 2 sprays from a Stampin' Spritzer)
4) Scrunch each punch, then open
5) Layer the flowers and add a brad
6) "Fluff" the petals of your flower

The flowers will vary with the punch you use:

Blossom

Fancy Flower

Scallop Circle

Here are my variations together, along with one from a swap card I received that uses 2 colors of card stock

Tweet Leaves

Don't you love the samples in the Stampin' Up! catalogs? I do! But sometimes I forget about them- rarely do I make them. I really liked the sample for "Tweet Leaves" on page 31 of the Holiday Catalog and decided to have everyone make it for the Stamp-A-Stack.

Stamp Sets: Tweet Leaves, Woodgrain, Perfectly Penned (I don't have Sweet Essentials, which is what was used in the catalog sample)

Colors: Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, Pool Party, Lucky Limeade, More Mustard, Cajun Craze, Very Vanilla

Accessories: 3/8" Ruffled Ribbon, 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon, Designer Ribbon Slides

Baby Feet!

I had good intentions of geting the cards from the September Stamp-A-Stack posted sooner, but I kept forgetting to take pictures of them! Too much going on lately! Still not much happening with the Building- just waiting for everyone to get their estimates for what it would cost to rebuild so the insurance company can decide what's next. We're getting sick of waiting!

On to the cards! The first one we did was made with a set my sister Darla (who is also my downline) let me borrow- Baby Prints. We did blue and pink versions.

Colors: Bashful Blue, Whisper White

Accessories: Stripes Embossing Folder, Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border, Postage Stamp, and 1" Square Punches

Colors: Pink Pirouette, Whisper White

Accessories: Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder, Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border, Postage Stamp, and 1" Square Punches

And, of course, there are Dimensionals on both! Darla wouldn't have it any other way!

Stamped Cookies!

I made some stamped cookies for the Stamp-A-Stack on Saturday (I'll share the cards soon!). The cookie stamps come with two recipes, so I made them both. Almost everyone said they prefered the Sugared Shortbread cookies (the 4 word designs on the bottom) over the Sugar Cookies (the pumpkin face in the middle). They're both good, but you really taste the butter in the shortbread ones! You may not recognize the designs on those cookies- they are made with stamps that were only available at Convention this year. One of my sidelines (Hi Lisa!) bought me a set because she knows how much I like to bake. Unfortunately they were in the Building during the fire. The box they were in was covered in soot, but they were OK, other than smelling like smoke. I soaked them in water with baking soda for two days and they like new now! I'm so glad because there is no way to get more of them! They say "Thank You", "Love What You Do", "I [heart] Stamps", and "Stampin' Up!". Check out page 161 of the Catalog to see the designs that are available, as well as some really cute packaging ideas! Also page 15 in the Holiday Catalog!
