BINGO Nuggets!

"Card #5" from the November Stamp-A-Stack

I know, this isn't a card, but it's cute and I wanted to do this at the SAS! These are Nugget Tins that a Demonstrator Group I belong to was able to get a bulk buy deal on. They are 5 1/4” x 3 3/8” and 7/8”. 12 Hershey's Nuggets fit inside. We stamped images from the Bingo Bits set in the Holiday Mini catalog on address labels and then wrapped them around the Nuggets. Then we took a strip of Whisper White cardstock and wrapped it around the tin and added the greeting from Tags Til Christmas punched with the Scalloped Square punch. Colors used are Real Red, Garden Green, Bashful Blue, and Chocolate Chip. Perfect when you want to give someone just a little something!

Cute Tags!

"Card #4" from the November Stamp-A-Stack

Not really a card, but I thought these were so cute we needed to do them as a project at the SAS! These are CASE'd (Copy And Share Everything!) from Andrea W. They use the A Cute Christmas Set, Candy Cane Christmas Designer Series Paper (which is sold out now- sorry!), Clear Tinsel Trim, discontinued Striped Grosgrain in Baja Breeze & Pink Pirouette, and the Decorative Label Punch. Colors are Baja Breeze, Pink Pirouette, Real Red, Crumb Cake, and Whisper White. The snowman and candy canes are colored using a Q-Tip and Whisper White craft ink. The tags are 2 x 4 1/4", so you can get 10 out of a sheet of 8 1/2 x 11" cardstock.

Seasons Greetings

Card #3 from the November Stamp-A-Stack

This was a combination of 2 different cards shared on demonstrator groups I belong to. I loved the way Amy C. stamped the Seasons Greetings over the holly- both stamps are from the Level 2 Hostess set Peaceful Season in the Holiday Mini catalog. And I thought the layout Tina T. shared was really unique! Did you notice the ribbon? It's the 1 1/4" Striped Grosgrain cut in half lengthwise, and then you pull some of the cut edge away to expose the "fringe". Very cool! Colors used are Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive, and Very Vanilla.

Red, Silver, & Bling!

Card #2 from the November Stamp-A-Stack

I had cut too many ribbons for my Workshop Make-N-Take, so I decided to make a similar card for the SAS. The ornament is from Tags Til Christmas, the greeting is from Four The Holidays. Colors are Real Red, Whisper White, and Brushed Silver. Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder, Ornament and Decorative Label Punches, and a Rhinestone for bling!

French Foliage Christmas Wreath

Card #1 from the November Stamp-A-Stack

I love using stamps that aren't Christmas to make a Christmas card! This is CASE'd (Copy And Share Everything!) but I don't remember who shared it. LOVE it! It uses a leaf from French Foliage and the stamp that is a "splatter" for the berries. The greeting is from Four The Holidays. Colors are Garden Green and Rich Razzleberry.

Projects from my Workshop last Tuesday

It's been awhile since I've done an actual workshop, so I decided to challenge myself and have one! I actually had butterflies in my stomach as I was packing up my stuff and heading to the Building!  I told everyone how nervous I was and they were very supportive. I never get nervous when I do classes!

Anyway, these are the projects I showed:

Gift Card Holder - Baja Breeze cardstock cut with the Two Tags die, Candy Cane Christmas DSP, Whisper White & Garden Green cardstock punched with the Decorative Label Punch, Candy Cane Rub-Ons, & Clear Tinsel Trim

inside the gift card holder

Another Gift Card Holder- I demonstrated embossing the greeting. One of my favorite techniques!
Cherry Cobbler cardstock cut with the Two Tags die, Jolly Holiday DSP, greeting from Tags til Christmas stamped in Old Olive craft ink, embossed with clear powder, punched with scallop square, layered on Cherry Cobbler cut with Scallop Squares Duo die, tied with Old Olive 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon

inside the gift card holder- greeting is from Seasonal Sentiments

The Make N Take- greeting from Perfect Punches stamped in Real Red on Whisper White, punched with 1 3/4" Scallop Circle Punch, layered on Real Red cardstock punched with 2 3/8" Scallop Circle Punch, attached to Whisper White card base embossed with Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder and Real Red 5/8" Grosgrain Ribbon.

Stepped Up version- layered on Real Red card base, ribbon is 5/8" Satin

Over the Top version- Garden Green scallop and card base, Real Red embossed with Petals-A-Plenty embossing folder, gold glitter gel pen on flowers, 5/8" Organza Ribbon

I hope you enjoyed seeing these projects! If you would like to order any of the supplies I used, you can order online: http://www.denalenneman.stampinup.net/ or contact me. If you would like to host a workshop, please contact me so we can set a date!

This Morning's Sunrise & Another Pumpkin Card

Did you see the sunrise this morning? It was gorgeous! I just had to get my camera out and take some pictures. I was standing on our front steps, looking across the highway...

My hands got cold so I came inside, then I decided to get my tripod out and try for some more. This time I stood on the other side of the house so I could get our fence in the pictures, too. I thought it made an interesting contrast.

And now on to the stamping! This is the 1st of 5 cards from the October Stamp-A-Stack. More punched pumpkins! They're so darn cute and easy to make! I thought they would make a cute Thanksgiving card.

Colors are Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive, and Crumb Cake. The Olive is embossed with the Square Lattice folder and the Crumb Cake is cut with the Top Note die (LOVE it!). The pumpkins are made with the Large Oval, 1" Circle, and 3/4" Oval (page 25 in the Holiday Mini catalog) punches and are sponged with Tangerine Tango ink. I used the 5 Petal Flower punch to make the stems by lining up a thin strip into a petal and punching so it was about half the width of the petal and got the curved shape on top. The greeting is from Seasonal Sentiments (page 15 of the Holiday Mini catalog). I thought I had stamped it in Crumb Cake ink, but when everyone did their cards at the SAS it was much lighter than my sample. I think I must have used Soft Suede ink.

Hope you had a fun Halloween! Chase said he's too old for trick-or-treating (he's 14) so he and John went hunting. They heard a deer, but didn't see anything. I watched the Vikings, made homemade pizza dough and some brownies so we had dinner when the boys got home, and worked on Christmas cards! So much for Halloween! How are you doing on your Christmas cards? We'll be making some Christmas/Winter cards at the next Stamp-A-Stack on November 20th!

Circle Punch Pumpkin

I actually made this pumpkin last year, but I don't think I ever shared it. It uses 11 1 3/4" punched circles of orange cardstock. I punched a small hole in the center of 1 circle, threaded some Old Olive grosgrain ribbon thru it and made a knot. Then I folded the other 10 circles in half and cut a slit about 2/3 of the way from the fold towards the rounded edge of each. They are then arranged around the reamining, uncut circle to make the pumpkin shape. I punched a piece of Old Olive cardstock with the 5 Petal Flower punch, punched a small hole in the center, threaded with the end of the ribbon that was thru the pumpkin, tied a knot to hold it all together, and trimmed it to look like a pumpkin stem. There is no adhesive on this at all!

That's it for my Halloween projects! I hope you have enjoyed seeing them! Please let me know if you have any questions about how I made any of them or if you would like to order any products to make them.

Now to decide on my Christmas cards...

Quick & Easy Halloween Treat!

When I went to my upline's Stamp-A-Stack recently, she had made 1 of these for everyone who attended. Just a simple strip of cardstock with 3 scored lines in the middle to create the bottom, an oval punch to show off the candy, and staples to put it all together. Quick & easy! You could make these with any small stamps, any color of cardstock to match the occasion, and any candy! I must say the pumpkin shaped York Peppermint Patty with an orange filling was quite tasty!

PS. I just had a Stamp-A-Stack on Saturday, but because I'm having one this Saturday with the same projects, you have to wait until next week to see them. Or sign up for the Stamp-A-Stack by Wednesday night and you can make them! $20 for 15 cards! I have everything all ready for you to just come and stamp!

More Ghosts

I made this card at my upline's Stamp-A-Stack recently- hi Betty! I love how the white dots from a gel pen make it look like a starry night! The leaves for the pumpkins are from the bird punch.

Upside Down Stamps!

I was putting some stamps away and happened to see the witches shoes from the Wicked Cool stamp set upside down and came up with this idea. The cauldron is actually the owl punch with the top part folded over to make the edge. Colors are Pumpkin Pie, Whisper White, Basic Gray, and Basic Black.

the inside

I don't know what has come over me! Normally I don't make much for Halloween but this year I can't stop! I have a few more things to share with you over the next few days...

This box is similar to the previous one, but each side is 2". It's 3 1/2" tall and I used the Curly Label punch on the top. I should have used the Bat punch!

Side 1- Pumpkin & Pumkin Faces Sizzix dies- I trimmed the pumkin so it would fit
Side 2- saying from Grateful Greetings, Curly Label punch

Side 3- Bat punch
Side 4- saying from Seasonal Sentiments (Holiday Mini), Curly Label punch

Pumpkin Treat Box

Sharing some more Halloween projects I've made...this one is a little open top treat box for some candy. I made it similar to a 2-4-6-8 milk carton, but made 2 sides 1" and 2 sides 3 1/2". Then I used the Scalloped Edge Punch on the top and folded up the bottom to make a box.

Side 1 has a pumpkin made from the large oval punch and the 1 3/4" circle punch. It's Pumkin Pie sponged with Tangerine Tango ink.The vine is Old Olive pieces from the Scribble Sizzix die and the stem is just a scrap of with lines drawn on with an Old Olive marker.

Side 2 is a stamped image from Sweet Centers in Old Olive and a smaller punched pumkin using the Medium Oval Punch in the Holiday Mini, 1" circle punch, and more pieces of  the vine from the Scribbles die.

Don't forget- today is the last die for the Clearance Rack Blitz and the Tote-ally Awesome Recruiting special!

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month

I made these cards for a Relay-For-Life Fundraiser this spring and saved the extras for October to help promote Breast Cancer Awareness. I have 2 boxes of 6 cards (with envelopes) each. They are for sale for $12 and $2 from each box will be donated to Susan G. Komen for the Cure®. When these are sold, I will make more but they will be slightly different pinks since Stampin' Up! retired the ones I used for these.

the front of the card (they are blank inside)

the boxed set- 6 cards and 6 plain white envelopes

Order anything PINK from Stampin' Up! during the month of October and I will donate 10% to Susan G. Komen for the Cure®!

Ink pads, ink refills, markers, cardstock, ribbon, and Decor Elements Sheets all come in shades of pink and qualify, as does the "Ribbon of Hope" single stamp on page 20 of the Idea Book & Catalog:

Ribbon of Hope - $7.95

You can place your order online thru my website: http://www.denalenneman.stampinup.net/ or call or e-mail me. This is not a special from Stampin' Up! - this is something that I am doing on my own.

Let's all help find a cure for Breast Cancer!

Pumpkins & Ghosts & Bats -oh my!

Project #6 - Halloween Stair Step Card

This is my favorite project from Stamp Camp! Kinda putzy with all the little steps to put it together, but very simple to make.

This is what it looks like open.

Here is how it's made:

1. Take a 5 1/2 x 8 1/2" piece of Pumpkin Pie cardstock, line it up in a paper cutter so you're cutting in the center (2 3/4") going the length of the piece. The actual cut is from 3" to 7 1/4". This makes the opening in the middle of the card to allow the steps to be folded on the right side. Turn the cardstock 90 degrees to the left so you can score the right side of that cut at 3", 6", and 7 1/4". Then score the bottom (or what will be the left side of the card) at 4 1/4" to fold the card in half.

2. The black background is actually 2 pieces of cardstock- 2 1/2 x 4" and 1 x 2 3/4". The seam is covered up by the large pumpkin.

3. The moon is a 1 3/8" circle of More Mustard. The bat is the new Bat punch from the big catalog.

4. The Ghost is actually the body of the Owl punch upside down! Add some googly eyes to finish him. Glue Dots were the perfect size to stick them on.

5. The pumpkins are Pumpkin Pie cardstock with Tangerine Tango sponged on the edges of each piece. The large one is the large (1 3/4" long) oval and 3 1 3/4" circles, the small one is the new oval punch in the Holiday Mini that is 15/16" long and 2 1" circles. The vines are from the Swirls Scribbles Sizzlet in Old Olive- I cut it up into pieces to be the vines and stems. I drew some lines on the stem of the larger pumpkin with an Old Olive marker.

6. The saying is from Grateful Greetings- I used Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive, and Basic Black markers to ink it up. It's punched with the 1 3/4" circle punch, layered on a 2" circle I cut with the Circle Scissors, then layered on a piece of Old Olive punched with 2 3/8" Scallop Circle punch.

Lots of steps, but worth the work! I think it's cute!

I hope you have enjoyed seeing the projects from the September Stamp Camp! If you need to order anything and don't have a demonstrator to work with, I would love to help you! Just send me an e-mail or you can place an order online thru my website: http://www.denalenneman.stampinup.net/. If you would like to attend one of my classes or events, check the "Dates To Remember" on the right side of my blog.

Happy Stamping!

Wicked Cool Shoes!

Project #5 - a Halloween card

I love the witches shoes in the stamp set Wicked Cool! These are cut out and then layered on a white 1 1/4" square to match the other images. I colored in the o's in Spooky to make them like eyes and then punched it out with the new Modern Label punch (Holiday Mini). Colors used are Perfect Plum, Tangerine Tango, Basic Black, and Whisper White. The ribbon is discontinued- sorry! Did you notice the spider web embossing folder? It's in the Holiday Mini, too.

Halloween Treats Are In The Bag!

Project #4 - Mini Lunch Sacks to hold your Halloween Treats!

These Mini Lunch Sacks are on page 13 of the Holiday Mini Catalog. They are so cute with their scalloped tops! I decided a Pumpkin Pie large square from the new Scallop Squares Duo Die (page 17 of the Holiday Mini) would be a perfect match for the bags. I stamped the Halloween stamp from Sweet Centers in Old Olive, punched out the center with the 1 1/4" Circle punch and added it to the center of another stamped in Elegant Eggplant. I used the Crop-A-Dile to punch holes through all the layers and tied it closed with a piece of Old Olive grosgrain ribbon. All ready for trick-or-treaters!

Mini Milk Cartons For Halloween

Project #3 from last Saturday's Stamp Camp...

These were made with the Mini Milk Carton Die and the Got Treats stamp set. After I made my sample, I got to thinking that there has to be a better way than stamping and then trimming to get the layers to fit on the milk carton. Duh- the tag punches work perfectly! So imagine that I had used them both, as everyone at the Stamp Camp did. Colors used are Concord Crush, Pumpkin Pie, and Old Olive.

Here's another milk carton I did using a piece of last year's Halloween Designer Series Paper to wrap around it. Then I used the "To Open" stamps on the top, just like a real milk carton! I left my thumb in the picture so you can get an idea of the size of the milk cartons. They are just larger than 1 1/2" square and 3 1/4" tall.

And I made a little caddy that holds 4 of the milk cartons. Sorry this is last year's Halloween DSP, but I didn't use much of it and didn't want to buy this year's and not use much of it either! I don't usually do much for Halloween.

Composition Notebook Ready For Fall!

Project #2 from last Saturday's Stamp Camp- a composition notebook

We stamped 3 leaves from French Foliage (Holiday Mini Catalog) with Cajun Craze, Cherry Cobbler, and More Mustard, and stamped the French words with Crumb Cake on Very Vanilla cardstock. Then we sprayed the cardstock with Smooch Spritz in either Gold Glow or Vanilla Shimmer to add some sparkle. After that had time to dry, everyone picked a definition from Define Your Life, which was then punched with the Wide Oval punch and layered on the new Decorative Label punch (Holiday Mini).

Ornament Fish? Yes, FISH!

Sorry I haven't posted for awhile- I've had a nasty sinus infection and haven't stamped much. But last Saturday was the September Stamp-A-Stack that turned into a Stamp Camp! More involved projects that took a little longer to complete, so we did just 1 of everything. This 1st card wasn't very hard, but it was requested at the last Stamp-A-Stack...

Here's another use for the Ornament punch- FISH! That's right- 3 totally different images from 1 punch! Use it as it was intended for an ornament, upside down and trim off the point to become a vase (which we did at last month's Stamp-A-Stack), and now sideways as cute little fish!

This card was done in Peach Parfait and Pear Pizzazz- both are this year's In Colors. The weeds are from Inspired By Nature. The tails, fins, and eyelids are from the 5 Petal Punch- 1 for each fish.

Come back tomorrow to see another project...

After the Walk...

Sydne & Vonnie on the couch

Yesterday we (John, Sydne, & I) walked in the Heel & Wheel for Can Do Canines. It was a 1.4 mile walk at Clifton French Park in Plymouth, MN. I didn't catch the exact total (it was more than last year's $45,000), but they said it was the 2nd largest in the 17 years they have been doing the Heel & Wheel! There were 173 registered walkers, but way more people than that. And lots of dogs of all breeds! There was music from a local bluegrass band and games for the dogs before the walk, including bobbing for hotdogs! Sydne drank some of the water, then sniffed at the hot dog chunks floating in the water, like "what are these little things that smell so good?" She tried to get one in her mouth but it slipped out, so on the 2nd try she pushed one up against the edge of the bucket and got it! I think she checked every water container for hot dogs after that! After the walk everyone headed back to the pavillion to get something to eat and drink. Sydne had a few chunks of my bagel, a bite of my banana, and shared John's apple. She also had lots of doggie treats throughout the day! I think she was exhausted by the time we were done! She flaked out on the couch when we got home and took a nap with Vonnie. We decided not to bring Vonnie with us- she just turned 14 last Thursday, is almost deaf, and her sight isn't what it used to be. I don't think she would have enjoyed it.

A big THANK YOU to everyone who donated money and helped us with the walk!
We raised $535! Woohoo!

Can Do Canines

"Tub of Pups" - Sydne & her litter of 2 day old pups

As many of you know, we have been Puppy Raisers for Hearing & Service Dogs of MN for the last 8 years. We got our 1st puppy the summer of 2002 and she became a Hearing Dog the next year. Going to the Graduation Ceremony was such an eye opening experience. These dogs make such a difference in people's lives! It is amazing what they can do! We have continued as puppy raisers, having 1 puppy at a time until they are old enough for their final training and then get matched with their person, helping with short term fostering, and eventually whelping 3 litters of puppies for the program, including 2 from our Yellow Lab, Sydne. Last November we watched 3 of "our" puppies graduate!

Hearing & Service Dogs just celebrated their 20 year Anniversary and recently changed their name to Can Do Canines to better reflect the dogs abilities. There are now dogs who are providing assistance to children with autism, people with diabetes, and returning disabled veterans. Unfortunately, the need for service dogs is much greater than the number of dogs available. All of the dogs are given to clients at no charge. Can Do Canines relies on volunteers and donations to keep the program going. Their biggest fundraiser is the annual Heel & Wheel Walk. Last year they raised over $45,000!

This year's walk is on Sunday September 19th in Plymouth, MN. John, Chase, Sydne, and I are going to do the walk and we need your help! Our goal is raise $1000. Would you make a donation to help the dogs? Any amount is appreciated! You can make your check payable to Can Do Canines and mail it to me:

If you are interested in doing the walk or would like more information, check out Can Do Canines website: http://www.can-do-canines.com/.

Thank you so much!
