Snow Day Winter Frost File Folder Card

My 2nd card is CASE'd from a swap my upline Betty made for our recent Stamp Share and uses the new Envelope Punch Board:

Stamps: Snow Day

Colors: Basic Gray, Pool Party, Whisper White, silver

Accessories: Winter Frost Designer Series Paper Stack, Envelope Punch Board, Silver 1/8" Ribbon, Rhinestones

To make the card look like a file folder, I put the cardstock (with DSP already attached) into the Envelope Punch Board to cut the outside corner. Then I flipped it over and punched it at 3". I used the Stampin' Trimmer to remove the top left corner, which left the "tab".  The back side of the Envelope Punch Board has a corner rounder punch, so that was used to round all the corners. I LOVE this new tool! Did I mention it makes really cute envelopes, too?

Glitter Leaves

Sorry I haven't shared anything for awhile! I haven't been stamping much for the last couple of weeks. I've been spending most of my time on ancestry.com working on my family tree. I had the basics (name, birthday, etc) for the first couple of generations, so I've been busy filling in spouses and siblings, and trying to see how much farther I could go back. On my Mom's Mom's side, I followed the line back to my 10 times Great Grandfather who came over on the Mayflower! Wow! It's been pretty exciting and pretty much took over my life for awhile! I'll keep working on it and seeing what else I can find. But I need to get back to stamping and sharing!

Tuesday night was our Stamp Share and this is the card I made for our swap:

I saw the card Connie Collins from the Stampin' Up! Artisan Design Team made and decided I had to try it! She die cut Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets with the Autumn Accents die, placed them on the card front (after stamping the Woodgrain Background Stamp), peeled the backing off, then sprinkled glitter on them and rubbed it in with her finger. Very easy, but kind of messy! I thought about using this for a Stamp-A-stack but we would have had glitter everywhere!

Stamps: Woodgrain, Truly Grateful

Colors: Early Espresso, Very Vanilla, orange

Accessories: Autumn Accents die, Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets, Stampin' Glitter, 1 1/4" Burlap Ribbon, 1 1/4 and 1 3/8" Circle Punches, Hexagon Punch (to make banner end)

I used small pieces of the Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets to adhere the Burlap Ribbon to the card and the Truly Grateful banner to the Burlap Ribbon.

Tomorrow is the September Stamp-A-Stack so I'll be sharing those cards next week...

Use It Up Cardstock Scraps Striped Layer

Looking at my scrap box the other day, I noticed I had lots of long thin strips of cardstock. So I came up with this layout to use up quite a few of them!

Stamps: You're Amazing (#1), Perfectly Penned (#2), From My Heart (#3 and #4), Designer Typeset (Photopolymer)

Colors: Blushing Bride, Crumb Cake, Naturals Ivory, Very Vanilla

Accessories: Apothecary Accents, Labels Collection and Circles Framelits, Crochet Trim, 3/8" Taffeta Ribbon, Paper Doilies, retired button from Artisan Embellishments Kit (Occasions Catalog), Linen Thread, Pearls

And here is the same layout with different colors:

Stamps: From My Heart, Designer Typeset (Photopolymer)

Colors: Bermuda Bay, Soft Suede, Very Vanilla

Accessories: Pearls

The cardstock pieces are 3/4" x 2". Two rows of seven each make the layer 4" x 5 1/4".

Can Do Canines Woofaroo Fundraising Walk

We have been Puppy Raisers for Can Do Canines, a service dog organization in Minnesota, for 12 years. We have done short term (a weekend to a few weeks) fosters, raised puppies from the time they are 8 weeks until 1-1 1/2 years old, and whelped four litters, including two from our own Lab, Sydne:

Sydne - about 1 year old (this is one of my favorite pictures of her)

The "Tub o' Pups"- Sydne and her litter of 5 two day old puppies

Can Do Canines provides assistance dogs to people with hearing loss, physical disabilities, seizure disorders, children with autism, and people with diabetes complicated by hypoglycemia unawareness. We are proud to say that "our" puppies are helping in all these areas!

Can Do Canines relies on volunteers and donations to do this wonderful work. One of their biggest fundraisers, the "Can Do Woofaroo" is coming up this Saturday. We will be participating in the walk and are looking for donations.

Every donation helps! Together we can help train more of these wonderful dogs!
THANK YOU!

* UPDATE *

Can do Canines raised just over $51,000 from the Woofaroo!
Thank you to everyone who made a donation!

It's Here! The NEW Envelope Punch Board

Envelope Punch Board

Use this creativity-boosting tool to create anything from itty bitty to long and skinny envelopes!

ItemDescriptionPrice
133774Envelope Punch Board$19.95

Available to order beginning September 1, 2013.

Talking Points
  • It creates totally customizable envelopes in up to 66 different sizes (not to mention a million different color and pattern options depending on the paper you want to use). Even tried and true envelope sizes will only take you moments to create!
  • It's super easy to use! It looks intimidating at first glance, but all you have to do is measure for the first punch and from there you just turn and score.
  • It's small and lightweight- it's super portable and easy to store. It's small and light enough that you could use it while watching a soccer match, at a park, at a friend's for craft night-anywhere.
  • It even has a slick scoring tool as well as a punch that lets you create rounded corners on your envelopes.
  • It's easy to keep it all together; the stylus storage compartment and two punches are designed into the tool so you don't have a bunch of little pieces to keep track of (even the instructions are printed right on the tool so you won't lose them!).
  • The price is terrific-especially for a tool that does so much!
  • It will be in next year's annual catalog, so it's here to stay.
