New Photopolymer Stamp Set: Designer Typeset

I've tried some clear stamps in the past. They're OK, but I prefer my Stampin' Up! stamps! So when Stampin' Up! introduced a photopolymer stamp set, I didn't know what to think. I decided to order it and it came on Monday, about an hour before I was going to leave for our group Stamp Share. I just had to try it out!

This is the card I came up. I had seen the curved banner on a card made by one of the Stampin' Up! designers and wanted to see if it was hard to do. Not at all! The stamps are very sticky, so it was easy to stick it to the clear block. I moved it a few times before I had the curve the way I wanted it. I decided to stamp it with an old style Basic Gray pad.

I put all the letters for "Birthday" on another block and colored each letter with Stampin' Write Markers. I love how the color stayed dark- sometimes when I color with markers the color seems "faded" when it's stamped.

I did the letters for "Happy" individually and used the new firm foam pads to ink them. I need to re-ink my Midnight Muse pad so the "H" is a little light. Overall, I am impressed with the way these stamps worked with all 3 types of ink.

The balloons are from Patterned Party and I used the 2012-2014 In Colors.

This picture shows the size of the stamps compared to a standard 4 1/4 x 5 1/2" card, as well as the staining from stamping this card. You can definitely tell which stamps I used! The stamps are totally clear- the black is printed on the clear plastic that the stamps are stuck to. I'm not sure if the staining is from the ink or from my Stampin' Scrub. I did start with a clean scrub, but we all know they don't stay that way for long!

I'm looking forward to seeing what other designs Stampin' Up! makes in photopolymer! I like them more than I thought I would.

Use It Up Designer Series Paper Card Box

This was the other project I showed at our Stamp Share Monday night. Another way to use up Desginer Series Paper- a card box!

The finished box- 4 5/8 x 5 7/8 x 1"

Card stock base, DSP cover, ribbon and card stock to decorate

A 4 1/4 x 5 1/2" card fits perfectly- so will an envelope (I just checked to make sure- didn't think of it when I took the pictures)

Dimensions:
Card Stock base: 6 1/2 x 7 3/4, scored at 1" on all sides
DSP cover: 6 5/8 x 7 7/8, scored at 1" on all sides

To come up with those sizes, I started with the size of a standard card, 4 1/4 x 5 1/2, and added 1/4 inch to both (4 1/2 x 5 3/4) to have the finished size of the bottom fit the card and envelope, then added 2" (1" for each side).

I used a stamp from the new A Round Array set with 7/8" Scallop Circle (Spring catalog), 1" Circle, 1 1/4" Scallop Circle (Holiday and Spring catalogs) and Fancy Flower punches and 5/7" Organza Ribbon.

Tomorrow I'll share the card that's sitting in the box- it's made with the new photopolymer set!

Use It Up Designer Series Paper Gift Bag

At our Stamp Share I demonstrated how to use Designer Series Paper to make gift bags! This was really popular a few years ago- the directions I have are so old they include Jumbo Eyelets!

To go with the old directions, I used some old DSP! "Bali Breeze" was in the Spring-Summer 2008 catalog. This bag is 8 1/2" tall, 7" wide and 2 1/2" deep. It's the third size listed in the box below:

There was no name, so I don't know who to give credit to for these directions.

Top Note Take 2

Katie did our second Make and Take at our Stamp Share Monday night. She showed us another way to use the Top Note Die that she calls Top Note Take 2.

Stamp Set: From My Heart

Colors: Whisper White, Wisteria Wonder

Accessories: Top Note Die, Chevron Embossing Folder, Beautiful Wings Embosslit, Baker's Twine, Stampin' Sponge, Dimensionals

Cut out the top note, then turn it 90 degrees and run it through again to get the shape on this card. Make sure your edges line up so the stitching matches.

Happy Easter Everybunny

We had our group Stamp Share last night and had a really fun night! Even though Betty wasn't with us, a turkey almost hit my windshield as I was driving, we didn't have all the parts for dinner, and one of the other ladies got her car stuck in the one deep snowy spot in the parking lot so we had to shovel and push her out. Such excitement!

Jen had an adorable easel Easter card for us to make:

Stamp Set: Everybunny

Colors: Pool Party, Chocolate Chip, Crumb Cake, Whisper White

(I forgot to color my bunny before I added Shimmer Paint, so I colored the inside of the ear Pretty In Pink when I got home)

Accessories: Labels Collection Framelits, Lacy Brocade Embossing Folder, Designer Frames Folders,Extra-Large Oval, Scallop Oval and Large Oval punches, Seam Binding, Shimmer Paint, Blender Pens, Glue Dots, Dimensionals

I'll be sharing more projects from last night all week!

Simply Sent App

Simply Sent App for Android

March 25, 2013

Last November, we announced that we'd created and launched a card-making application-Simply Sent-for iPhone. We are delighted to announce that we now have a Simply Sent for Android as well! As a refresher, we'll repeat what we said last fall: it's not My Digital Studio on a mobile device, not even close. This scaled-back version will only give you a taste of what they can create with MDS. We want to get our name and our art out there so more people than ever before will know about Stampin' Up!

We hope you'll get excited about it as well and that you'll do the following:

From your Android device, go to the Google Play Store.
Search for Simply Sent, select the application, select install and follow the prompts.

Or, click here to go to the Google Play Store and download.

As a reminder for iPhone: Download it from iTunes or the App Store.

For both devices, we hope you'll love it, share it with all your friends, and post a review! The more positive reviews it gets, the more prominent place it takes in the Play Store and iTunes stores.

Stamp-A-Stack Feeling Sentimental

CASE'd from Justin K.- my favorite card from the March Stamp-A-Stack

You could substitute the Naturals or Neutrals Designer Buttons from page 176 of the 2012-2013 Catalog and then use a matching shade of brown card stock to recreate this card. I grabbed the Holiday buttons by mistake and decided to use the bronze paper I had to try to use it up.

Stamp-A-Stack Patterned Occasions

Card #4 from the March Stamp-A-Stack...two versions:

I received several swap cards at Leadership with this fold and they're all over Pinterest, so I decided we needed to try it out! It's very easy- start with a piece of card stock that is 4 1/4 x 11" and score it 4 1/4" and 8 1/2". Then center a 2 1/2" Circle Punch on the 8 1/2" score line and punch out the circle. The 2 3/8" Scallop Circle is attached to the 4 1/4" section so it just fits into the 2 1/2" opening and makes the card 5 1/2" overall.

Stamp Set: Patterned Occasions (SAB)

Colors: top- Crumb Cake, Real Red, Whisper White
bottom- Night of Navy, Bashful Blue, Whisper White

Accessories: 2 1/2" Circle, 2 3/8" Scallop Circle and Small Heart punches, Circles #2 Originals die (for the 2" Whisper White circle), Perfect Polka Dots and Stripes Embossing Folders, Natural 7/16" Trim Ribbon (Spring Catalog), 3/8" Denim Jean Ribbon

Accessories: Petite Curly Label (SAB), 1" Circle and Curly Label punches, 1/4" Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon, Basic Rhinestones, Simply Scored & Simply Scored Diagonal Plate (SAB and 2012-2013 Catalog)

The background is made with the Simply Scored Scoring Tool and the Simply Scored Diagonal Plate. Very easy- just score on every inch to make the diagonal grid. You could make it without the Diagonal Plate, but trying to get your card stock to stay at just the right angle might be hard. The Diagonal Plate makes it so much easier! And you can get it FREE with a $50 order before Friday- it's one of the catalog items you can choose for Sale-A-Bration!

Stamp-A-Stack Bloomin' Marvelous

The March Stamp-A-Stack was last Saturday so it's time to share the cards! The theme this month was Sale-A-Bration (SAB) so we used the stamp sets from the SAB flyer. First up, Bloomin' Marvelous:

CASE'd from Dawn O. after seeing the card on Pinterest. Love that site!

Colors: Pool Party, Island Indigo, Rich Razzleberry, Whisper White

Accessories: Sycamore Street Ribbon (from the SAB Ribbon & Button Pack), Delicate Details Lace Tape and Bitty Butterfly Punch (Spring Catalog)

I LOVE the Lace Tape- so easy to use since you can pick it up and restick it if you didn't get it where you want it the first time! A tip from Leadership- use the tape as a stencil and sponge around it for a cool design! You can reuse the piece of tape many times.

Sale-A-Bration ends this Friday! If you haven't placed your order yet (or want more FREE stuff!), contact me soon! Get a FREE SAB product for every $50 you order! You can order online or call, text or e-mail me with your order.

I used my new A Round Array Stamp Set and the 7/8" Scallop Circle Punch to make this “Happy Day” card:

I used the Ciao Baby Stamp Set for the greeting since the 7/8" Scallop Circle Punch also coordinates with this set. Of course, then you’ll want the Petite Curly Label Punch and the Pretty Petites Stamp Set, too! It’s so fun that everything coordinates together!

Use It Up Snow Flurry and Snow Much Fun

Last weekend was "Stamp & Scrap Weekend at the Building", and I thought I would have all kinds of cards to share with you this week after having that much time to stamp. Um, I hate to admit this, but I didn't stamp anything. Nothing, nada. So, what did I do all weekend, you ask? Get this! I actually worked on scrapbooking! Right now I'm just trying to get everything into scrapbooks so I don't lose anything. I have saved everything so there's lots of stuff! Then I'll go back and add journaling and decorate the pages more. I'm working on "our" album and one for Chase, so there are duplicates of most things. I got one year of stuff onto pages this weekend! I'm excited- now I'm only two years behind. At one point I was actually caught up, but it's been many years since then!

I did find pictures of two more cards from my last stamping spree that I haven't shared yet. And since we just got about 8 inches of snow last night and today, it seems fitting to share these snow themed cards:

Stamp Set: Greetings of the Season (Holiday and Spring catalogs)

Colors: Bashful Blue, Whisper White

Accessories: Snow Flurry Bigz Die

I had the blue snowflakes cut out from another project so I came up with this card to use them up. I think I might add a rhinestone or pearl to the center to finish it off.

Stamp Set: Snow Much Fun

Colors: Cherry Cobbler, Lucky Limeade, Early Espresso, Whisper White, Basic Black, Pumpkin Pie, Always Artichoke

Accessories: Festival of Prints Designer Series Paper Stack (Holiday Catalog)

I had the triangle piece of DSP left over from prepping the Twisted Christmas card for the December Stamp-A-Stack and came up with this card as a different way to use it.

Introducing Photopolymer Stamps from Stampin' Up!, March Best of Stamps

INTRODUCING...Photopolymer Stamps from Stampin' Up!

We've searched long and hard for just the right material to be able to introduce completely clear stamping. And we've found it. We're excited to announce that we now have wood-mount, clear-mount AND photopolymer stamps! The new photopolymer will be an addition to our stamp line and will appeal to all types of stampers. Our top-quality photopolymer has just enough give to create a perfectly stamped image every time and with the introduction of our firm-foam pads, let's just say they're meant for each other! Photopolymer stamps will also be unique, fun designs that will inspire you and provide more versatile options you may not see in our traditional wood- and clear-mount stamp options.

What makes them so great?
  • They're entirely transparent for perfect placement every time!
  • They are durable. The photopolymer material is designed to last.
  • Can you say sticky? (Don't worry; in a good way.) These stamps stick amazingly well to our clear blocks.
  • They're age tested. They won't yellow or cloud up over time.
  • They use FDA, food-safe material. How far can you stretch your stamping creativity?
  • We could go on, but we'll let you try them for yourself.
They are clearly a great choice.

  • Available March 1, 2013.
  • Not available in wood-mount or clear-mount.
  • All photopolymer will be packaged in cello bag w/insert, but don't forget you can store them in our clear cases.
Q&A
Q: How long will each stamp set that's released be available for purchase?
A: Since this product line is being offered on a trial basis and is not currently included in our catalog, we won't have a standard amount of time that each set is offered. We'll let you know when each set is no longer available as well as when new ones become available.
Q: What should I know about this line and its future plans? A: We're trying it out and if it's popular we'll keep the photopolymer sets coming! So if you want to see more, you need to buy! And if you like a set you see, buy it now since there are no guarantees how long it will be available
