Another Way To Use The Deer Builder Punch

I'm a little late with this, but I just figured it out yesterday! Did you get a package of the Peaceful Prints Designer Series Paper from Sale-A-Bration? It coordinates with the Peaceful Deer stamp set and Deer Builder Punch- both of which are in the July-December Mini Catalog. There is one design that has red and black plaid deer that work with the punch. But there are also deer that are "backwards" and can't be punched. Or can they???

Here's the backwards image next to the punch, which is upside down so I can line up the image. This one isn't going to work. But I figured out a way to punch it!

I punched a plain piece of paper to make a template. I grabbed a card that was close by to put underneath the template so it didn't blend in with the white paper I have on my desk.

I held the DSP and my template up to a light so I could line them up. It's hard taking a picture with only one hand so it doesn't look like it's lined up very well, but it is.

Then I carefully put the DSP and template down on my desk and used a Sharpie marker to color in the antlers and the dot. These will be my reference points when I punch. Make sure you use an ink that shows up on the dark paper. I tried a white crayon and a black Sharpie first and I had trouble seeing them.

Here are the marks I made on the paper and the punch for reference

Here is the paper lined up in the punch

and the punched image. It works!
And it should work with other punches that have backward images on Designer Series Paper!
