I participated in some swaps while I was in Las Vegas for BackStage. I signed up for three different themes and made 12 cards for each, which included a card for the organizer of the swap and one for myself.. So I got 10 cards back from each, 30 total.
This was the first card I made, with the theme of Birthday:
Colors: Cherry Cobbler, Crushed Curry, Early Espresso, Pecan Pie, Very Vanilla
I used Cherry Cobbler & Pearl Adhesive-Backed Berries, but they have sold out and are no longer available.
Here was my first attempt with die-cutting the Designer Series Paper. The lines are straight, but it doesn't look right for an angled slice of cake:
I made templates for the cake and icing and figured out the angle I needed to put the DSP in the die:
