I love to swap! I love making multiples of cards! Once I have the design figured out, I like cutting all the pieces, stamping, and assembling, and seeing them all finished. And then at the event, meeting new people, catching up with others, and seeing all the cards I get- there's just nothing like it! Swaps by mail are OK, but getting to swap in person is the best! That's why I was so excited to go to Backstage in New Orleans in August. Our first Stampin' Up! event since COVID started. Woohoo!
These are the cards I made to swap at Backstage. I wanted to use the Painted Christmas Designer Series Paper from the July-December Mini Catalog, but some of the patterns are pretty busy. I added pieces of vellum from Lovely Layers Vellum to help tone them down a bit.
And the inside:
This is one of my favorite layouts to use up Designer Series Paper! The pieces on the front are 4 x 5 1/4". I cut the DSP to 4 x 12, then cut at 5 1/4", cut again at 5 1/4" and that leaves me with a piece that is 1 1/2 x 4". Cut that in half and you have the pieces for the inside of the card. I get pieces to make 6 cards like this from a sheet of 12x12 and use every bit of it!
