Have I told you how happy I am that Stampin' Up! has Watercolor Pencils again? I am so excited about them! The Watercolor Pencils we used to have were nice, but they weren't Stampin' Up! colors, just generic red, blue, green, etc. These new pencils are Stampin' Up! colors and I think they're even better! I'm going to have a class soon where everyone who signs up will get a set of the pencils and Blender Pens. When I was figuring out what we would make with them, I decided to do examples of different ways of using them. To start with, I'm showing three different kinds of paper, all stamped with Archival Black Ink, and what they look like with Blender Pens and AquaPainters.
Whisper White Card Stock - Blender Pens on the left, AquaPainters on the right
It works, but the AquaPainters tend to make it curl and it will pill if you do too much blending with either. Keep it simple if you use Whisper White. I should have tried it with the Thick Whisper White. I'll get back to you on that!
Shimmer White Card Stock - Blender Pens on top, AquaPainters on the bottom
Stampin' Up! recommends Shimmery White for watercoloring, It doesn't allow as much blending as the Watercolor Paper, but it's better than Whisper White.
Watercolor Paper - Blender Pens on the left, AquaPainters on the right
A little more expensive than Whisper White and Shimmery White, but so worth it! It's so much easier to blend and you can go back and add more color and blend again. I love it with the AquaPainters- it almost looks like markers, but softer.
Blender Pens - Shimmery White Card Stock on top, Watercolor Paper on the lower left and Whisper White Card Stock on the lower right
AquaPainters - Shimmery White Card Stock on top, Watercolor Paper on the lower left and Whisper White Card Stock on the lower right
