Back Stage @ Home

Stampin' Up! just had a big leadership training this weekend. Because of COVID it was virtual (again), hence the name Back Stage @ Home. But before the event started, I received this box in the mail!

This is what was inside- bag, pin, notebook, pen, stickers, folder, and flask

Here's just the bag:

And the folder:

Thanks for all the goodies and the awesome training Stampin' Up! My head is so full of ideas and I can't wait to start using the things I learned in my business!

USE IT UP Darling Donkey Stripes

Remember the Darling Donkeys stamp set from the first Sale-A-Bration earlier this year? I must have stamped one too many for swaps, because this little cutie was stamped, colored and just waiting to be made into a card. So I did!

USE IT UP Country Home Pitcher Of Flowers

Yesterday I shared some cards I made to use up strips of card stock. Here's another striped background with a different image from the retired Country Home stamp set:

No stripes on this one, but the same image.

USE IT UP Country Home Striped Backgrounds

I've been going through my scrap box again! I always end up with little pieces that are too big to throw away and I figure I'll use them someday, so I put them in a box:

It has six compartments, so I use one for each color family (across the bottom), one for white, vanilla, and black (top left), and one for In Color and anything else (top right). The strips on top are too long to fit in the compartments. Whenever I need a small piece of card stock, I always check here first. And every once in awhile I decide to use up as many pieces as I can!

The following cards are started as leftover strips from cutting layers for swaps. Striped backgrounds are so easy to make, and they use up those strips! I also found some images from a retired stamp set, Country Home, that I had stamped but never used. A few of them were colored already, so I made backgrounds to coordinate, the others I colored to go with the pieces I had to work with.

Blackberry Bliss and Crumb Cake stripes on a Rich Razzleberry card base. Milk can is stamped on the white layer and colored with Stampin' Blends.

Cherry Cobbler and Smokey Slate stripes on a Basic Gray card base. Milk can was stamped on Basic Gray with black ink and fussy-cut.

Cherry Cobbler and Smokey Slate stripes on a Cherry Cobbler card base. Milk can was stamped on Galvanized Metallic Paper that was available when this set was first introduced with black ink and fussy-cut.

Flirty Flamingo and Smokey Slate stripes on a Blushing Bride card base. Milk can was stamped on white card stock with gray ink and colored with Stampin' Blends.

These all have Elegant Faceted Gems on the front (I colored the ones for the Blackberry/Razzleberry card with a Stampin' Blends Marker) and are blank inside.

My 20th Stampiversary!

20 years ago today I signed up to become a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator!

I was introduced to Stampin’ Up! when my sister asked me and our mom to go to a stamping party with her because she didn’t want to go by herself. I watched this lady do her demonstration on a card table and she had that table rocking with everything she was doing! I don’t even remember what she showed us- I was so overwhelmed! It was in the fall, and there was a moose stamp set in a small holiday catalog so I ordered it, some white card stock, and a black ink pad. I used them to make our Christmas cards that year, with construction paper and Crayola Markers! I was hooked!

The first stamped Christmas card I made in 2000- I still have that stamp set!

We started going to classes with the lady who hosted that first party. They were once a month in her church basement. When the new annual catalog came out, she had an open house. I started looking through the catalog and my wishlist was so long, I decided it made the most sense to sign up for the discount! I remember sitting in her porch, filling out the paperwork. I didn’t even get to pick out what I wanted- you just bought a Starter Kit. And it was way more money than it is now!

I did my first workshop at my sister’s. I was so nervous! But everyone seemed to like the products so I had some sales and booked another party. I kept doing parties, did some craft fairs, and eventually started doing classes. The lady I signed up under dropped about two years after I signed up, but luckily the lady who had the table rocking at that first demonstration is my upline! She is awesome and is the leader of a great group of ladies. We get together once a month to share ideas and talk stamping, and we have gone to lots of Stampin’ Up! events together around the country.

I think everyone needs a creative outlet and I’m glad I get to help my customers find ways to express their creativity! And show them new ways to use their supplies!

THANK YOU to everyone who has been part of my small business over the years.

I have met some of the nicest people because of stamping and am so happy to call them friends! I appreciate you all so much! I couldn’t do this without you!

Happy Stamping! 😊

Shaded Summer Shadows Colorful Birthday

Did you see the Summer Shadows Dies in the Sale-A-Bration Brochure? They coordinate with the Shaded Summer stamp set in the Annual Catalog. When I first saw the stamp set, I liked the words but wasn't sure I would use the flower images that much. Now that we have dies for them, I will! Here's the first card I made with the stamp set and dies, CASE'd (Copy And Share Everything!) from Jason L. I love the colored strips on the side!

The saying on the inside of the card is from Peaceful Moments

PLEASE NOTE: there is a typo in one of the sayings shown in the catalog. If you order the stamp set, it will be correct.
