Birds Of A Feather Give Thanks

Have I told you much fun I've had with the Birds Of A Feather stamp set? I've been using it for swaps and Stamp-A-Stack cards. Today's card is the first Thanksgiving one I made with the set, along with the To Every Season stamp set and Every Season Punch Pack. I also made THIS card with the turkey.

Two Boxes Of Cards On Their Way To Cards For Soldiers

Thanks to everyone who stopped to say hi at the ROCORI Craft Sale on Saturday! It was a good day- pretty busy and I sold lots of cards! WOOHOO!

Speaking of cards, I took seven boxes of them to the sale on Saturday. I sold enough to condense to six boxes to bring home. Still WAY too many! So I decided to send some to Cards For Soldiers

I ended up with enough for two very full boxes! This is the inside of one box- they're in categories to make it easier for the people unpacking the boxes to organize them on their end. And there was room for about 20 cards on top to fill the boxes. There are 241 cards in that box, 272 in the second, for a total of 513 cards!

Two boxes taped up and ready to go! One box weighs 9 pounds, the other 10 1/2- that's almost 20 pounds of cards and envelopes! So glad they're going to a great cause! If you would like to know more about Cards For Soldiers, they have a page on Facebook and a blog:

I didn't make all of these cards, but I did a lot of swaps with other demonstrators.

Gather Together Gathered Leaves Wishing You Well

These were actually some of the first cards I made when I got my pre-order for the Holiday Catalog in August. I saw a similar card in a Demonstrator Facebook group and had to try it!

First version (above) Early Espresso, second version (below) Soft Suede, both with Pretty Peacock

Colors: Early Espresso, Pretty Peacock, Soft Suede, Very Vanilla

I cut the Scalloped Linen Ribbon apart to get just the scalloped edge that I put below the strip of Designer Series Paper. For the top card, I pulled the middle part of the ribbon apart to get long natural colored threads. Then I pulled apart some of the scalloped edge to get the peacock threads that I tied in a knot. That was not easy! So for the bottom card, I used Linen Thread and the Faceted Dots for a pop of color.

Which do you like better?

Paper Pumpkin April 2019 Sentimental Rose

Another Paper Pumpkin kit finished! This one is so pretty and was fun to put together! The April 2019 kit "Sentimental Rose" is a card box with a bellyband and nine note cards, three each of three designs, and envelopes.

Butterfly Wishes Black & White & Flirty Flamingo

Sometimes I decide on a card for a Stamp-A-Stack but try different color combinations before I find one I like or have enough of the supplies for. This was the first version of THIS card with a Flirty Flamingo flower, but I didn't have the ribbon to match so I changed it to Grapefruit Grove. I put this piece in my stash and forgot about it, until recently when I started going through it. I still don't have Flirty Flamingo ribbon, but I layered it on that color card stock and added this white ribbon with a silver edge. Voila! Now I like this one too!

A Flag Card For Sarah

Our soon-to-be daughter-in-law Sarah is originally from Canada, but has lived in Minnesota since she was 4. On Tuesday she had her swearing in ceremony to become an official US Citizen! Of course I had to make a card to celebrate! I don't have any current flag stamps. Actually, I don't think there are any current flag stamps! So I used my God Bless America stamp from 2001. An oldie but goody!

Colors: Blueberry Bushel, Real Red, Whisper White

I colored the stamp with my Stampin' Write Markers. The stripes on the background are 1/2" Whisper White strips on a piece of Real Red cardstock. I used my new Paper Trimmer to cut them. It is awesome! The bow was too bulky when I tried tying it around the background layer, so I ended up just attaching a strip of ribbon and then adding a pre-tied bow with a glue dot.

I bought her some Cracker Jack, too!

Congratulations Sarah!
