I'm so happy that Happy Celebrations and the Celebrations Duo Embossing Folders are in the new 2017-18 Annual Catalog! They were some of the first things I ordered from the Occasions Catalog. Sometimes the card stock will "crack" when it's embossed with the folders, but I had heard that using the Thick Whisper White helped. Here are the results of my experiment:
Regular Whisper White card stock. You can see the "cracks" around HAPPY. Stamping over them really makes them show up.
Thick Whisper White card stock. Still a few lines, but not as noticeable, so it does help!
You could also spritz your card stock with a little bit of water to soften the fibers before you put it in the embossing folder.
I've been pulling all the items that I have that are retiring from my stash so I can use them before they're gone. I thought I would show you what this looks like. Here's my list- each highlighted line is something I own that's retiring:
Here are all my stamps that are retiring:
And all the tools and embellishments:
Then there is the InColor inks and refills, and all of the paper products, which I didn't take a picture of as I'm still using them. Out with the old to make room for the new!
I found this on Facebook and thought it was appropriate, especially for this time of year!
The link for the Retiring List post is at the top right corner of my blog as the Featured Post. You can click there to see the list by category (stamps, inks, papers, etc.). As things are selling out, I'm crossing them off the list.
My sister Darla is also a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator. She didn't go to OnStage with us, but she did sign up for an organized swap that my downline Sandy and sideline Lisa organized. I brought her cards with me to swap, but before I left I took pictures of them. They were so cool I had to share them!
We had our April Stamp Share Tuesday night. As usual, we had a swap, but Betty challenged us not to use anything that was retiring. So that meant no Designer Series Paper, as nothing current is carrying over. And very limited ribbon, as I only have 3 that are carrying over. I decided to use a new set that we received at OnStage called This Little Piggy.
Colors: Basic Black, Pear Pizzazz, Pink Pirouette, So Saffron, Whisper White
Yes, I cut out all those little piggies! 12 of each!
They were so cute I had to take pictures of them before I put them on the cards!
Colors: Daffodil Delight, Old Olive, Pool Party, Tranquil Tide, Whisper White
Did you notice a new color name in the list? Tranquil Tide is one of the new In Colors! It's kind of a hunter green, but with a little blue. Darker than Bermuda Bay. I really like it! There are two punched flowers on this card. Did you notice the center of the flower? It's a new gem! This one is gold, but it looks darker in my picture. They come in 1/4", 5/16", and 3/8", in silver or gold.
Hope you had a very Happy Easter! We had everyone here for brunch and had WAY too much food as usual! Back to the projects we made at OnStage...here's the second one:
Stamp Set: Birthday Delivery
Accessories: Birthday Memories Designer Series Paper, Birthday Friends Framelits
Colors: Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, Pacific Point
The image of the fox and banner are not stamped, They're cut from the Designer Series Paper. With the framelits! Yes! The stamped images and the images on the paper are the same size so you can cut them both out with the framelits! Woohoo! Thank you Stampin' Up! The fox is attached with Dimensionals and the end of the banner is not attached so it can be slightly curled.
One of the best parts of going to OnStage is getting to make some projects with new products! We did four projects last weekend. Here's the first, a cute little crate (there's a die for that!) with 3 fun 3 x 3" cards in a cellophane bag:
Stamp Set: Wood Words
Accessories: Wood Texture Designer Series Paper Stack, 1/4" Copper Trim, Wood Crate Framelits,
